There's enough that's happened to the ROM to release a stable version. How should it be called: ROMv5? ROMv5b? I'd call it either ROMv5 ...

Re: gigatron cases?

The are no design files available for the original wooden case that we used to ship. In this thread, you'll find some inspiration. Basically, it's just a box with holes in the back for usb/sound/vga/controller.

Old microprocessors

I stumbled upon https://www.righto.com/2015/05/the-texa ... first.html

It's about the first microprocessor. I am posting it here, as it also discusses the speed (at the time) of MOS CPU's versus CPU's based on multiple TTL chips.

Re: PyCon UK Talk Proposal

Tweaking the presentation until T-5min... been there, done that :-)

You spoke very kindly of Marcel and I too find it a comforting thought that his work has inspired others.

Re: PyCon UK Talk Proposal

Nice! Kudos for doing a whole talk with just one slide. I once did a presentation on TinyBSD, booting TinyBSD into RAM from a 3.5" floppy, then putting in a second floppy holding JPGs of the slides to show. The 486 I ran it on did not have a coprocessor so they loaded really slowly :-) I enjoye...

Re: gigatron cases?

The font only contains the characters g, i, a, t, r, o, n. That means you can't use the capital G, just use a lower case G at the beginning. The "TTL" part needs to be in a regular font. Something like combining text("gigatron", font = "gigatron", size=6); with text(&qu...

Re: gigatron cases?

I thought, why is the logo on the back? But I see it's also on the front :)

Maybe you can use the official font to generate the logo.

Re: Lies, Damned Lies and Benchmarks.

Nice. 190 times faster and 200.000 times more expensive :)

Still, the Cray-1 is better looking than the Gigatron. There's in in the Heinz Nixdorf museum in Paderborn Germany.
