Re: Gigatron OS - Some progress and a hardware mystery.

Is the OSD message popping up at 36s indicative of loss of vsync? I don't suppose you have an oscilloscope you can monitor vsync with? Have you also tried different monitor and different VGA cable? You don't want to know how many times a flaky cable has been the root cause of my woes.

Re: Pluggy Reloaded

That would be pretty cool! I'm assuming you would be using stm32duino and just port the existing Arduino code for the bulk of the interfaces? I suspect it's simpler from a porting standpoint to start with PS2 with appropriate level shift. I think even the lowest cost F030 (no USB) would be able to h...

Re: Pluggy Reloaded

Hi, yes, I have enough parts for a few more kits. It's probably easiest to just DM me on the Gigatron Discord at https://discord.com/invite/XywGzy5K88 but I will try sending you a DM here as well.

Neat in-line BabelFish hack! I'm going to have to try an in-line Pluggy Reloaded now:P

Re: Video Repeater

Hans, that was Marcel's youtube channel, which explains why you haven't heard back. Not sure what you're specifically looking for but he went over it in some detail in the RAM Expander log https://hackaday.io/project/164176-gigatron-io-and-ram-expander . I'd imagine Leon would be familiar with the c...

Re: whole board with 74LS

Did you use a 74LS377 or 74HCT377 for the output register? I believe you need different video DAC resistors per the schematic. The 750/1500 ohm values are meant for HCT

Re: Overview of hard/software subprojects

I assume you are talking about running on real hardware vs running on the emulator. If you have a Pluggy Reloaded, that's probably the most convenient way. Just copy the .gt1 file onto a FAT16/32 formatted SD Card and launch it from the SD Card Browser. Otherwise you can still load it if you have an...

Re: My Gigatron build

The audio DAC is an R2R resistor ladder and isn't a simple resistor array, but you can literally copy the symbol on the Gigatron schematic and build one from 10k/20k resistors. In my experience, unactivated flux is conductive, so perhaps that was the original problem you had.

Re: Pluggy Reloaded

@at67 I think he's using the NOROM BabelFish which should work with the v5a ROM. @wbushby Do you have a way to measure voltage/current on 5V? From your description, I'm suspecting that your 5V rail droops to <4.5V when you're accessing the SDCard and causes your reset chip to kick in. Either that or...
