Re: Encore un gigatron, this one from Cologne

This a lot of fun! I dusted of my old arduino Uno and managed to load some software onto the machine. I also compiled at67's great emulator! My initial plan was to mount a semi-transparent lcd into the box, hang the gigatron on the wall and have it render the mandelbrot set and show me what time it ...

Re: at67 emulator

If you mean experimenting with the Gigatron's Vertical Blank software serial communications, what is it you are actually trying to do? If you are running the correct ROM version, the emulator should be presenting the correct data stream as real hardware would. I succesfully loaded Micorchess on my ...

Re: at67 emulator

Hi, first of all thank you! Great software. I compiled your emulator under linux. However I was not able to start the Terminal in order to talk to the serial port. I’m getting cannot open /dev/ttyS3 error and the emulator turns black. I want to toy around with serial I/O in the emulator. Is this pos...

Re: Encore un gigatron, this one from Cologne

I was wondering, is there a list of all the test points. I used CLK1 during the assembly. There is one labeled A15 and one ALU7. Can I look these up, somewhere?

Encore un gigatron, this one from Cologne

Hello, before I built the kit I could not understand why everybody is so enthusiastic about the manual. But it is really nice! Awesome work, thank you so much! The manual and advice is spot on! If anyone wants to build the kit, heed the advice about the wattage of the soldering iron. I did the kit w...

Re: Fitting a screen inside the wooden box

Nice design. You got yourself a gigatron laptop computer. Awesome! This looks pretty much like the same lcd i got, prior to taking it apart.

Thank you for the pictures!

Re: Fitting a screen inside the wooden box

I got an lcd of ebay. Unfortantely the display was damaged in shipping. Other than that, the display was quite easyly dismantled and worked fine. The backlight is a led strip. The gecko in the picture is underneath the display. I‘m getting confident ;-) This will take me while. I‘m thinking of mount...

Fitting a screen inside the wooden box

Hello, I am thinking about getting a cheap 10`' - 11`` VGA screen. My idea is to pry the back off and get an transparent lcd. Then putting that screen inside the box and mounting it to the wall. Sort of a retro picture frame where you can see trough the display onto the PCB. Do the 25.2 cm x 17.6 cm...
