Re: Possible ways of speeding up the Gigatron

I don't have a FIFO yet. I just ordered some and hope they arrive within the next week. @axelb thanks for the hint. I wanted/will test the circuit first as it is. I think it's already good as it is, since it gives us the maximum processing power of the Gigatron without graphics loss. To decouple the...

Re: Possible ways of speeding up the Gigatron

Very nice work, thank you. I think I would like to replicate it. I think the PCB clashes with the RAM expander. Maybe I will make one myself.

Re: New Gigatron with 128K expansion. Boots from SD!

I also have a TL866IIplus, I think directly from China. I find the part better with each passing day. I had the extension ready last week, just no time to post. I also have to thank lb3361 for the idea with the GAL/PAL. I didn't have that in focus and didn't know those things existed back in the 80s.

20210423-185242-005-erweiterung-web.jpg 20210423-185227-004-gigatron-mit-erweiterung-web.jpg Thanks for the new 128k expansion. I took the liberty of building it right away. I find it very beautiful. After I was more concerned with the hardware of the Gigatron at the beginning, I want to deal more ...

Re: And again a new Gigatron fan

Hi Brian, thank you very much for pointing it out. I hadn't noticed it yet. After the design change here: https://forum.gigatron.io/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=64&start=50 I wired the blue wrong. Thereby A6 and A7 are swapped, the signals B0 and B1 are responsible for the RAM above the 32kByte memory. In pr...

Re: And again a new Gigatron fan

Thanks for this information. The XOR and sprite thing is of course very dependent on the colors and background. I still have a lot to learn about the Gigatron, I've only known it for 3 months. After the hardware, I want to get more involved with programming the Gigatron. I find the emulator from at6...

Re: And again a new Gigatron fan

What I noticed while building the Gigatron - In ROMv5a Pictures does not work, also not in the emulator - with physical RAM 64k or 128k ROMv4 always shows 64k and ROMv5a always 128k - under Debian 10 I had to remove the space in the Makefile at: minipro -p 'AT27C1024 @DIP40' -w "ROMv4.rom" -y -s to ...

Re: And again a new Gigatron fan

Is there a special thread about sprites? I don't know if I should ask all the questions in this place. I'll just do it. To me, a sprite is a graphic that I can move around the screen without "breaking" the background. I'm not sure, but as far as I've read that's not the case with the sprites we have...

Hi Aarush,
how are you doing with your Gigatron?
