Re: Gigatron Black Edition from France

It was hobby glass (acrylic) from the hardware store 25x50cm 4mm thick. A year ago it was still available for € 4.99. I cut a plate into 3 equal parts. So two plates became a simple protection for 3 Gigatron's.

Re: Gigatron Black Edition from France

Congratulations and welcome. My first one was also from Budgettronics and also black. You shouldn't have any problems building it. I wish you success.

Re: And again a new Gigatron fan

A few more pictures of the extension-retro v7 from lb3361. gigatron-with-extension-retro-v7-web.jpg extension-retro-v7-web.jpg The board and SD card browser of lb3361 support two SD cards. In addition, two additional 8-bit output registers can be connected to the expansion port (74LS377, 74LS273, TL...

Re: And again a new Gigatron fan

As a soldering exercise for a new project, I built two extension compacts from lb3361 (https://github.com/lb3361/gigatron-lb). A nice little board. expansion-compact-top-web.jpg expansion-compact-buttom-web.jpg gigatron-yellow-with-expansion-compact-web.jpg sd-card-holder-web.jpg To get a little mor...

Thanks for the great work. My first time in the genre was Masquerade (Apple II). It keeps the Gigatron alive.

Re: Extending the CTRL code space

I have already tested a 74HTC377 with 8 LEDs at the output on the new 13-pin header extension. It works very well. Bits: connect pins D[1..8] to the address lines A[8..15], pin CLK to /AUXCTRL, pin /G to /AUXDEV0. A binary counter runs with the following code: SYS_ExpanderControl_v4_40 EQU 0x0b09 sy...

Re: Can I build with HC rather than HCT series ICs ?

The clock generator U1 (74HTC04) does not work with the 74HC type. With the rest it should be possible. I think so.

Re: SDCard Browser for the RAM & IO expansion SPI port.

Very nice work. The speed is great. I just tested it with my current expansion (SD card to SPI0 and MCP23S17 to SPI1). Everything works.

Re: Video Repeater

This sounds like a good idea. If it would be possible to interpret 4 of the 12 available bits as address and 8 as output data and maybe select different 74HCT244N for the input, then we would have more than enough I/O ports. But this was just a spontaneous thought.
