Re: Roadmap and status of Gigatron TTL
I agree that the appeal is in its simplicity and there aren't too many changes beyond faster load times compared to the Pluggy Reloaded that I'm really interested in pursuing for my FPGA handheld adventures. I made a quick 39 second video of my Gigatron Bartop Arcade and 17 seconds of it was load ti...

Re: Roadmap and status of Gigatron TTL
Over clocking what I have read is possible at 8 MHz without ROM update. With tweaked ROM update 10 MHz is possible. In my mind, the limiting factor isn't so much ability of the ICs to run at a particular speed, but rather that video timing is hardcoded in the ROM based on instruction count. Dependi...

Re: Gigatron 512k and more
Just out of curiosity, do you and Hans live near each other to enable you to collaborate, or have you been racking up a big shipping bill?:P The XC95xxXL parts have been in production for the better part of 2 decades now and still remain a popular choice if you need 5V tolerant IO. There haven't bee...

Re: I made a ROM full of games
And your idea reminds me of one I've sorta had. I imagine someone could build an arcade cabinet around the Gigatron. Funny you should say that:P I did exactly that last year, but I did it on a Spartan6 LX25 FPGA. Excuse the poor workmanship:P I had to deal with a monitor dying on me and had to impr...

Re: Who wants to see a 100 Mhz Gigatron?
Just my 2 cents, but here's my guess as to why this topic hasn't generated more responses... At what point does it cease to be a Gigatron? For me personally, the appeal of the Gigatron is that it's simple enough that I still have hope of understanding what's going on and yet there is enough of an ec...

Congrats! Is this the same unit you were debugging earlier? If so, I'm curious what was the issue with the board that prevented it from working?

Re: how to burn in a 27c1024 EPROM a single .gt1 file
"There are SDCARD_bmwtcu.rom and SDCARD.rom, what are the differences? What means "as a foundation bespoke for bmwtcu"?" The FPGA I was using in the Gametron handheld has a limited amount of block RAM and cannot fit the whole 64kx16 SDROM image. at67 was kind enough to strip out ...
