Re: Pluggy Reloaded

Very nice too see another board in action! :D
Just a reminder: I'm still taking reservations for the next batch. Just a couple more and I will order the components.

Re: Pluggy Reloaded

I'm sorry to hear you're having issues. Here's a couple of guesses what the problem could be: - You haven't installed the SD card library (which you can do through Tools>Manage Libraries in the Arduino IDE) - You haven't installed the Pro Micro Board Addon for the Arduino IDE (instructions can be fo...

Re: Pluggy Reloaded

That's amazing! I'm glad it works! :D Regarding the code: I wouldn't call my changes major, but I'll put it in Contrib first anyway until you get a chance to review. Here's an overview of the changes I made to Babelfish: Adding support for the Pro Micro Adding support for program transfer from an SD...

Re: Pluggy Reloaded

Hey all, I'm sold out of boards! Thanks to everyone who has bought one! If you still want one, but don't want to source the parts yourself, I'll start a waiting list. If I get ten more potential buyers I'll order a second batch of components. I have also now set up a git repository for Pluggy Reload...

Re: Pluggy Reloaded

I have now 3D printed a case for the device, that works quite well. All connectors and the reset button are still accessible. Won't be offering this case with the remaining units though, since my 3D printer always requires a lot of convincing and babysitting :D @Marcel you'll still get yours, don't ...

Re: Pluggy Reloaded

Hey everyone, the boards arrived today, and I got one fully assembled and working. It all went together without any issues. I have tested the game controller, ps/2 keyboard, USB and SD card and everything works like a charm. pluggy1.jpg pluggy2.jpg In case anyone is interested in having one, I have ...

Re: Pluggy Reloaded

After finding and fixing some errors in the PCB layout and widening the traces, I have now ordered 5 PCBs, which should arrive by the end of the week.

I have attached the Gerber files to this post for anyone interested.

Re: Pluggy Reloaded

@marcelk Sounds great! What are you envisioning to be written out from the Gigatron? You want to be able to write files to the SD card, or Serial to the PC like it is currently? Regarding the trace width. Data lines are currently .25 mm and power lines are .5mm. Should be fine, but I can widen the d...

Re: Pluggy Reloaded

[Edit: I'm terribly sorry, I accidentally edited your reply instead of replying to it. The text below is mine... -marcelk] KiCad's default trace width is quite thin. For our PCBs we changed the default trace width to 0.250 mm for signal and clock lines, and 0.400 mm for power lines. Kit makers lear...

Re: Pluggy Reloaded

Hey all, Progress has been made on the PCB front. My current design can be seen in the images below. Following monsonites suggestion I have broken out the remaining 4 GPIO Pins, which happen to also be analog inputs. I'm considering adding mounting holes, since I'm going to 3D print an enclosure, bu...
