Re: Error in step one of Assembly
Very well spotted! I would want to say: you found the secret error in our manual and win the grand prize! But the fact this, this is just an error we made and missed every time we checked the manual. I'll fix it for upcoming versions of course. Thanks for pointing this out. You could measure using t...

Re: My Gigatron (from VCFB) is alive
Nice work! You obviously have experience :) We let the people solder the components starting with the caps, to get some experience with soldering. More seasoned people will start with the low components, as you did. It's nice to see the defails, like lifting the PCB to the optimal position and how y...

Re: PS2 KEYBOARD INTERFACE HOUSING
Nice job!
I should add that this is for the first version of the board. The later version (that has the name Pluggy McPlugface on it) is of a different size.

Nice work, tocksin!
Yes - I want one too
Obviously, we are already working on the PS/2 interface so that is an affordable way to attach a keyboard. But this PCB looks quite nice as it is!

Re: Double your RAM:
Thanks for the write-up. I've doubled my RAM as well. I sacrificed a resistor to get two pieces of wire. I bent one to connect pins 2, 30 and 32 on the bottom of the socket. I bent the other to connect A15 to pin 31. The downside is that if I want to swap RAM, I need a soldering iron. ramdouble1.jpg...

Re: PS/2 keyboard hookup with microcontroller
Cool. I just built my own. I found some old serial plugs (DB9-RJ45) of which I sacrifised one. I just added some sugru to fill the small gap next to the PS/2 connector and it looks pretty nice.
