associate the .gt1 filetype for web autoloading
one could automate https://gigatron.io/emu further to allow loading a .gt1 binary straight from a URL suffixed like in https:// gigatron.io/emu/?load=ggt_binary.gt1&?address=filehost.xyz/binar0123.dat or similar to have clickable Ggt binaries. To make firefox understand it, one can use the exten...

true self-modifying code
The only advantage of this approach would be the ability to arbitrarily assign opcodes ... with the added bonus of driving WozMon debuggers crazy, but not necessarily emulators. true self-modifying code is always cool to run, no need for FPGA. It would mean code obfuscation beyond any measure! Tran...

ZX-Speccy.jpg your screen is pretty kewl. But how kewl would it be to see the attached screen on a Gigatron?   I may well release a custom ROM with the stock pictures of the ape and the planet replaced with cool ZX-Spectrum screenwarez. gonna be a big hit in the Speccy r...

slam the PC into reverse gear
I remember a funny April's fools day joke in my favourite Compy magazine named c’t It went along the line of them discovering a virus which was able to run machine code backwards by flipping the execution-direction control-bit of the i80286 CPU and executing a secret OPcode. Now, programmers knew th...

Gigatron build with IC sockets works!
It is good to know that a socketed Gigatron works  without any modification. This makes the workstation more hackable and one can plug in ECL gates with a few further modifications. Great work for posterity. Also allows for easier oscilloscoping, chip-tuning and such. That to my mind is...

trade warrior and patent troll-in-chief
It was pretty unfunny to watch how Huawei of PRC was kicked out of many engineering bodies by the chief patent troll in the oval office in 2019. Let's hope they won't resort to banning Gigatron from export to China or some baloney like that. I hope they can't do that with open hard/soft/warez. There...

emulator works well in Linux
the ./gtemuAT67 Linux elf binary works pretty well here. ROM4 is best here with most intuitive keys when set to PS2 which means PC host keyboard or whatever. maybe use more clarified terms in input.ini in the keyboard section, to avoid users resorting to trial & error methodology . The emulator ...
