Re: Expanding ROM space

That sounds like a security precaution to prevent files that are being uploaded from being run by the webserver.

Re: New Gigatron with 128K expansion. Boots from SD!

Funny you should post this today. I also just soldered and installed the expansion today. I had to wait for a new programmer to arrive, I had a TL866 but that cannot program these GALs. So I got a TL866IIplus, but this turned out to be problematic.. I ordered in China, but made sure to use a seller ...

Re: Ye Olde Gigatron and Gigatronski

In my brain there is a connection between "ZIF socket" and "green". So although my eyes are working fine, I incorrectly called it green. It is aqua.

Re: Ye Olde Gigatron and Gigatronski

I had ordered some stuff for lb's expansion board. Instead of paying €20 for shipping, I decided to order some nice ZIF sockets to replace the big green ones, e.g. on Ye Olde Gigatron, so the shipping was free (or the ZIF sockets were free, depending how you look at it). First, getting the old one o...

Nice work. It's a lot of time these kind of things take, especially if you really think them through well, as you did.

Re: And again a new Gigatron fan

Wow, lots of soldering! But I also enjoy soldering. My latest project was this one: https://www.tindie.com/products/kilpela ... r-arduino/

Soldering *and* weaving cores, fun!

And thanks so much for your offer to send PCBs to add to my 'shrine'! I'll send a DM.

Re: And again a new Gigatron fan

Hi Hans,

You made three of them right away? (Black, blue, orange)

Your wooden box is nice, nicely build.

Darn, now I want a blue and orange PCB for my collection of Gigatron stuff :)

Nice to see this. Although I think putting SMD there is a bit cheating with the whole retro concept, I like how you've hidden that from view :)
Btw that's a nice DIP40 socket you have in there.
