Hmm, let's see, what's smaller than Giga- (that isn't going to get me sued)? Kilotron?!?

If I can figure out how to, I'll start a poll, but keep the suggestions coming!

Re: Gigatron ASIC?!?

Hi Walter, for me personally, it's a learning exercise. I have never done this before, so don't hold your breath if you're waiting for an ASIC kit  . Given it's relative simplicity, I feel the Gigatron design affords me a good chance of actually getting something done in the short timeframe giv...

Re: Gigatron ASIC?!?

Hi, Is there documentation on what end-user capability is available on the RISC-V supervisor? Firstly, I'm interested in whether there is:- 1) JTAG debug interface that can map/modify end-user 64kx16 NVM. The supervisor will load it's program from an external SPI flash. There will be some default p...

Re: Gigatron ASIC?!?

Have you thought about SRAM and FLASH arbitration? i.e. How do the RISC-V and Gigatron arbitrate over the memory resources? Good question... It's not entirely clear to me if the RISC-V has on-die memory as well or will require an external NVM/RAM so I have some reading to do. Regardless, I was assu...

Re: Gigatron ASIC?!?

So each of the chips comes with a RISC-V on board which is part of the standard harness that efabless would design, so I'm more confident in your ability to port Babelfish over to the RISC-V and do away with the Arduino all together than I am in my ability to slap on an AVR core from Opencores and h...

Gigatron ASIC and the Gametron Handheld

UPDATE:- I mentioned in this thread that my long term goal was to build a Gigatron handheld. I wasn't actually planning on doing it so soon, but when at67 revealed the SDCard Browser ROM on 1/22/2021, I realized that I had all the pieces to make it a reality and have been working the last few weeken...

Re: 1000+ and Gigatron future

That's excellent news! I hope they will be able to continue supporting the community with hardware and software revision updates. While the original Gigatron should live on as-is, my wish list for "experimental kits" includes:- 1) 64k RAM by default 2) Integrating the SPI expander changes ...

Re: Importing in Kicad 5

Kicad 5 prompted me to allow it to remap the libraries. I haven't checked in great detail but it looks like I am able to access all the schematic sheets in Eschema.

Re: New form factor Gigatron.

Great job Mike! The last time I checked with Ken late 2019, he had not actually ordered the rev 14 boards because he had moved on to the Suite-16.

Re: 10MHz, 12.5MHz and Beyond!

Hi Marcel, just so I understand... I know that Dave Jones worked on the 4-layer PCB, but is it possible to buy one from you? Thanks!
