Finding parts?

I'm attempting to building a Gigatron using the PCB/BOM posted on the site. (Thank you for doing this BTW!! It's so nice of you guys!)

I'm having trouble tracking down the following parts at the moment:

4606X-R2R-103LF -- Resistor array for audio.. should I try using one of the 9 pin versions and just hack it?
MP062-E -- Clock crystal, are there easier to find replacements?

Thanks for any assistance!
Brian

You could leave out the resistor array, the Gigatron will still work, but will not have sound. You could solder the array yourself from individual resistors, see the data sheet. This will probably be very fiddly.

If you use a different clock, you might loose VGA output because the sync rates depend on the clock. There's other threads about this.

Thanks Walter!

I think I may have found a surplus spot with the crystals. There are here if anyone else is on the hunt for parts:
https://www.radwell.com/en-US/Buy/CTS%2 ... ON/MP062E/

I'll try building the resistor array and see what happens.

Thanks for such a quick response!

My step-son and I have successfully built our Gigatrons. We got the PCB's made at OSHPark and sourced the parts ourselves. It was great fun! I haven't been able to get our Pluggy McPlugface to work though. Is this the correct firmware for it? https://github.com/kervinck/gigatron-ro ... tiny85.bin I suspect I programmed it incorrectly (I'm using a XGecu TL866 II). So maybe I just messed up in software.. will play around, but would appreciate any pointers given! Here's at pic of our's in action though!

Ah! I didn't have the fuse bits programmed properly! Fixed that and Pluggy McPlugface is happy.

Thanks again for making this open-source, it's quite fun!

Are those black PCB's? They look purple, but that might be just the picture.

I believe OSHPark makes you PCBs in any color, as long as it's purple.

I was waiting for someone to do a Gigatron on a purple board from Oshpark - very smart.

Roughly how much did they charge for the boards?

Oh, wow.. JLCPCB charges €23 for 5 boards including shipping to the Netherlands.

JLCPCB is great! I just ordered another revision of my (8" x 5") board plus the expansion card (3.5" square). $30 with FedEx shipping and turned around in 36 hours.
