I'm still stuck on the idea of combining the "Video Repeater" and "RAM&IO Expansion" from lb3361 on one PCB. Unfortunately my day has too few hours. I would like to put a MCP23S17 on the board as well. Before I order a PCB I would like to have it tested.
I found these two videos that show it can be done. I have tried to reach the author, but so far no response.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ugpzAZGCHQ
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vkLmdJQkBA
In the first one the author shows a test in WozMon and ROM v3x. Unfortunately I can't reproduce it. That on 0x50 could still be data. But when I run the program on 0xA0, which the author enters and executes, through the 6502 disassembler I get this:
* = $00A0
00A0 75 59 ADC $59,X
00A2 00 BRK
00A3 2B ???
00A4 79 CF 76 ADC $76CF,Y
00A7 59 14 5E EOR $5E14,Y
00AA 79 1A 0E ADC $0E1A,Y
00AD 5E 7A CF LSR $CF7A,X
00B0 76 1A ROR $1A,X
00B2 0F ???
00B3 8C FF 35 STY $35FF
00B6 3F ???
00B7 A5 63 LDA $63
00B9 FF ???
.END
Unfortunately this makes no sense to me.
Is there a software/example to test the MCP23S17 on the Gigatron? I'm stuck there right now. If the MCP23S17 works on the Gigatron I would make a PCB.

Hans, that was Marcel's youtube channel, which explains why you haven't heard back. Not sure what you're specifically looking for but he went over it in some detail in the RAM Expander log https://hackaday.io/project/164176-giga ... m-expander . I'd imagine Leon would be familiar with the code as well and can advise where a working version resides on the github.

I believe there are two WozMons. The first one (roms v3 and v4) was a vCPU translation of the original 6502 code. There is no point trying to find 6502 opcodes as these roms didn't have the v6502. The second one is the original one that runs in the apple1 emulation using v6502 in rom v5a.

As for using the MCP chip with the SPI extension, I have no experience with it but as long as it uses spi mode 0, things should work.

Oh I didn't know it was Marcel's youtube channel. First of all thanks for the information. Then I'll have to look into what SPI support the ROM offers and how to use it.
