Problems with assembly

Post by veekoo »

Hi. I am just assembling my build. I managed to solder almost everything. Power circuit is working. Clock circut is working. Blinkenlights don't work.
I had trouble with my soldering station and had to use reserve simple soldering pen, but this probably don't heat up to 370c so the quality of work is questionable.

I attached here 6 photos of pcb. Can you spot out the worst errors in soldering (short circuits?)?

Already spotted A+D short circuits and B+F need more tin at two places

Some action seen at blinkenlights, but then it stopped. I’ve been checking solderings and washed the board.

ROM module has one pin that is shorter, but might make contact.

If I apply pressure to ICs in right top corner lights start doing something random. There must be cold solderings there.

Resoldered everything. Blinkenlights do random things.

Now it seems to stable all lights on. One led must be wrong way, so it stops program.

Redrilled led, sync resistor and DB9 plug holes.
Ran in to trouble seems pcb copper was drilled away.

For led I made jumper cables, but the output seems quiet.
Could actual IC be broken? Led was wrong way.

Sync resistor seems to be making contact at top of pcb.
Remains to be seen if it works.

PS/2 adapter with DB9 didn’t fit in opposite port.
I have ordered right DB9, but the small pcb might not be good anymore.

Blinkenlights 3/4 light up sometimes or remain off when power up
