I had the same thought at the beginning. But where do you start and where does it end.
The Novatron includes the expansion and part of the expansion board from lb3361.
It is 128k+ compatible with it.
There are several extensions that use sockets from U36 and U37. If you change the board now it will be difficult to stay pin compatible.
